Pregrnancy

Weight during pregnancy is always an issue troubling most soon-to-be mums. Apart from the possible few extra pounds before getting pregnant, it is quite important to identify if the additional ones, especially divided per trimester, are within the normal range.
Experts state that each pregnant woman will actually gain between 25-35 pounds (11-16 kg), which per month means 2-3 pounds. Still though, this is not a gradual increase, but rather abrupt, especially towards the end of the 9-month period. These figures reflect an average baby of 7-8 pounds plus the placenta, fluids and membranes, indicating also that post birth the real weight you need to lose is only 5 pounds.
Attempting to lose weight during pregnancy should be treated carefully as it may affect the baby, regardless of the starting weight, while a low-fat diet accompanied with a lot of water is always welcome. The trend can be intensified post birth, while taking into account the fact that regular breastfeeding requires a thousand calories more a day above the normal figure.
You should attempt those to lose weight only if you are really obese and not if you just think you are. On the other hand, if you keep losing weight without trying, this is something you really need to see with your doctor.
It goes without saying that the baby has needs that need to be fulfilled at the maximum points and this can sometimes confuse you, where along with the hard work you will be required to walk through in a brand new, unknown world. This should never discourage you; disappointment is to be expected but don't give up on yourself, your state of mind and body. The tips below can prove quite useful and get you exactly there that you want.
  1. Sleep no less than 6 hours daily, preferably in not so many breaks, which can affect your metabolism. This part is quite essential, because you need your body to adjust to this new situation as gradually as possible.

  2. Workout should be part of every day's schedule. This could be comprised by any type, walking, yoga, swimming, but always with special care without pushing yourself too much. Try to think of it as a hobby, as your way out of the standard routine.

  3. Food and especially healthy one, rich in vitamins and fibers, which will provide all what you and the baby needs, helping you also to avoid constipation, a side-effect of this new journey. Chicken, fish and lean meat should be regularly present at your table, while sodas can significantly offset what you have achieved until that point.

  4. It is so important to believe that you are not constrained and don't really follow a specific diet. It is a period of your life that stress will really has to be kept at minimum levels, but you just have to be a bit careful. Besides, most women experience this, at least once, and the outcome is more than successful.
Remember, that after the pregnancy, try to go for regular breastfeeding, proving super antibiotics and immunity for the baby, while help you burn a great deal of calories (500 per day!).
